EAST 185TH STREET REHABILITATION
NOTTINGHAM ROAD TO LAKE ERIE

LANE CONFIGURATION

The four main sections of the corridor are discussed below:

NOTTINGHAM ROAD TO VILLAVIEW ROAD (SECTION 1)

From Nottingham Road to Villaview Road, East 185th Street is approximately 56 ft. wide and includes two travel lanes in each direction, as seen in the photo below. The roadway expands near I-90 for turn lanes on and off the I-90 ramps.

The existing use along this section, Nottingham Road to Villaview Road, will be slightly modified. Existing travel lanes will be reduced from 14 ft. to approximately 11 ft. to add a striped median and exclusive left turn lane from East 185th Street northbound to S. Waterloo Road. At the end of this project, the final lane use will include two travel lanes in each direction, a striped median, and an exclusive left turn lane from East 185th Street to S. Waterloo Road. The typical section, shown below, depicts the final lane use along this section of the East 185th Street corridor.

VILLAVIEW ROAD TO NEFF ROAD (SECTION 2)

From Villaview Road to Neff Road, East 185th Street is approximately 40 ft. wide and includes one travel lane in each direction, a center two-way left turn lane and a parking lane on the east side of the street, as seen in the photo below.
The existing use along this section, Villaview Road to Neff Road will remain the same. At the end of this project, the final lane use will include one travel lane in each direction, a center two-way left turn lane (TWLTL) and a parking lane on the east side of the street. The typical section, shown below, depicts the final lane use along this section of the East 185th Street corridor.
